So the second Stargate franchise comes to an end. Sad, but not suprising I guess. I have enjoyed Stargate Atlantis, but still prefer SG-1 over SGA anyday. I will miss the characters, especially Rodney McKay, Elizabeth Weir, Sheppard, and Zelenka. The good news is MGM has greenlit a two hour movie for 2009 for Stargate Atlantis and if the previous SG-1 movies are any indication it will be great. The final episode airs Friday 9/8C on SciFi.

Comment Discussion: Did you like “Vegas”, the recent Stargate Episode? John Sheppard as a detective? Wraith serial killer? Alternate realities? Zelenka in a suit? I didn’t really love it, was kinda hoping for more ya know? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Star Trek Online, a massively multiplayer online game, is in active development, the Associated Press reported.

Game developer Cryptic Studios Inc. recently announced that it had secured the rights to develop and publish the game from CBS Consumer Products after now-defunct Perpetual Entertainment canceled its plans for a similar game.

Players will begin Star Trek Online as the captain of a small Starfleet or Klingon Empire ship. They can customize their characters from pre-existing Trek species and can create entirely new alien races. As they progress through the game, players can increase in rank and gain larger vessels and more crew and engage in ship-to-ship battles.

The game will be set a few generations following the last Star Trek film and won’t feature any familiar characters from the movies or TV series.

No release date has been set for the game’s debut. More details about the game will be announced over the weekend in Las Vegas.

With the new Mummy movie in full force in theaters around the world we thought a quick look at the plot wouldn’t hurt (in case you have been under a rock lately.)

What did we think about this blockbuster? Great movie, horrible acting. It was was hard to really get into this film because of a few forced moments that really didn’t “sell”. The new guy playing the son of Brandon Frasier’s character is not likely to receive an Oscar Nomination for his work. Worth a watch simply for the visual effects though.

Source: robcohenthemummy.com

The blockbuster global Mummy franchise takes a spellbinding turn as the action shifts to Asia for the next chapter in the adventure series, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O’Connell to combat the resurrected Han Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China high into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China’s ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have laid forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terra cotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O’Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force…unless the O’Connells can stop him first. Now, in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, the trademark thrills and visually spectacular action of the Mummy series will be redefined for a new generation.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is helmed by director Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious, xXx) and written by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Spider-Man 2, television’s Smallville). Reprising their roles as producers in the series are Bob Ducsay, Sean Daniel, Stephen Sommers and James Jacks.
